Ron Silliman read a section of his poem "Ketjak" at a quicker clip than I had read it in my head, which proded me to re-read the poem differently. I don't prefer the faster or slower reading; they both have their merits & different effects.

I started my reading in Ashland quite a bit slower than I had in Oakland, which actually caused me to get into a better sense of the rhythm and I think I ended it at an even faster clip. I always see the text as a score, open for a new interpretation with every reading.
